QuakeClan The QuakeClan camp was built with twigs of thorn and dry brambles that they found on their desolate wasteland. To provide them with some constant water source, a large cracked boulder sits at the back of their camp, water trickling down into a stone bowl from the broken stone. Closest to the stone bowl lay the elders den to the right. To the left, the nursery. One gnarly tree, one of the few that still stands in QuakeClan territory, partially shelters the elders den. Mostly it shelters the medicine cat's den. The roots hide her stores from the dry weather and protect them from scattering everywhere when the shakes come. Closest to the entrance, and on the other side of the medicine cat's den the warriors den is hidden by thick thorn brambles. Next to the nursery two stones lean against each other in an 'A' formation. Brambles and thorns are used to protect the back and make this their calling rock and the leader's den. The flat stones that the leader uses to climb to the top get warm often so the elders might sun themselves.[/center] ((Picture coming soon))

Crackedstar stretched in his nest before exiting his den. Stepping out into the pale light of morning, he yawned, showing his sharp yellowing fangs. He looked around camp, pleased that there was already a hunting patrol assembled and leaving. The whole Clan would soon wake up, so there should be fresh prey on the pile. Crackedstar chose a mouse for himself, sitting down in his favorite spot to watch his camp before tucking into his breakfast.

Cleargaze slipped from the warriors den, a wad of dry moss in her maw. She was planning on getting rid of her very old bedding and heading to get new bedding. It was often a long trek to find moss on the QuakeClan and FireClan border, so no warrior made it often. Noticing her leader sitting outside her den, she set the moss off to the side a moment before bounding over to him. Her bright blue eyes sparkled lightly. "Good morning Crackedstar. I was just off to get new moss and I was wondering if you needed anything for you den."

Crackedstar looked at the warrior thoughtfully. "Yes, I do believe my moss is growing rather thin and dirty," he replied after a moment. "But let me come with you to gather new moss, I'm sure the queens and elders need new moss as well," he added. Even though Cleargaze was a capable she-cat, Crackedstar knew she couldn't bring so much moss back, if she found that much. "You don't mind the company, do you?" He asked rather gruffly. She would certainly go on his bad list if she refused, and what else was he going to do to fill his morning?

Cleargaze felt the electricity to get started upon their little journey. She literally idolized their leader's ferocity and his stubbornness. The warrior nodded with hyper anxiousness. This was going to be very entertaining to go on a border patrol, moss collection with her leader. "Of course Crackedstar. I would welcome your company any day," Cleargaze meowed lightly. "Let me just go get my bad moss again and we shall get started to the border."

Crackedstar nodded, surprised at the she-cat's willingness to have his company. But then again, he was leader. He sighed, disgruntled at the thought of going so close to the FireClan border. He remembered their last border fight, and it hadn't ended so well for QuakeClan, in so many words. Quite a few of his warriors had suffered bad scratches, but they recovered quickly. 'I wonder if Cleargaze was in the attack with FireClan,' he mused, padding toward the exit, lingering only to see Cleargaze picking up the dirty moss. He would replace his own when they got back, for he was in a slight hurry to leave. He wanted to check the borders and make sure FireClan hadn't set them into his territory. "Are you ready yet?" He growled impatiently, working the dry ground with his paws.

Cleargaze had quickly gone over and stuffed her mouth with the bad moss before leaping back towards her leader. The white she-cat bounced to a halt before nodding her head. Her eyes glowed solemnly though as she straightened herself out and padded towards the entrance of the camp. Memories of joining the fighting patrols and running out of the den in a great hurry clouded her mind a moment. The pulse of adrenaline and the heat of battle often thrilled her. As she pressed through the den entrance, she spat the dry moss into the barrier, adding to the wall barricade. "I'm ready. Let's go." ((Border))

Stonekit's lids slowly flickered open to the sharp morning light slicing through the the thick brambles. The black pelted kit stretched her long legs and then let them relax against the thin moss. She sighed in happiness, and then a wondering thought came to mind. She was almost 6 moons! Suddenly much more awake, her eyes shining, she laughed happily. Stonekit bounced lightly, her fur sticking out in places. Maybe it would be today! She giggled out loud in a high, pretty voice. "I'm gana be an apprentice!" she chirped out happily. the dark pelted kit trotted out of the den, a smug smile on her happy face, and a bounce in her step. She forced her large body to pause and scan the camp with glowing blue eyes. 'Where was her leader?'Her brow furrowed and she frowned, but walked close to the entrance to wait for his return.

Sunfire lashed her tail like a squirming viper as she sat in the shadows, watching Stonekit with great glee. It was a chance to become a mentor again. It all rested upon Stonekit's ceremony. Crackedstar would have no choice but to choose her, the tabby colored she-cat with a tongue as fearsome as a striking snake. Shivering with sick pleasure, she stood up, practically prancing over to the black and blue-eyed kit. A thundering purr escaped her throat though it sounded as if she was scratching her abnormally sharp claws over a flat stone. Tail raised high and with authority, she gave another thunderous purr. "Hello there Stonekit," Sunfire began, enunciating the finally part of the little thing's name. "You are supposed to have your ceremony today, are you not?"

Stonekit's fur stood up instantly at the she-cats arrival, and wrinkled her nose. "Oh, go away, I don't wana talk to you!" She lashed her tail and thought with a glint of annoyance in her vibrant blue eyes, Why can't she just mind her own and stop making fun of me? She acts like a weirdo. The solid black kit lashed her tail once and looked away harshly.

Sunfire saw only a slight little bit of herself in the black and blue-eyed kit. She was still somewhat tame for her taste, but that could always be changed with constant harassment and vigorous training. Leaning down close, Sunfire place one leg on one side of Stonekit, and her head on the other, in a somewhat pestering hug. "I thought you would. See, I want to be your mentor." The gravely voice seemed to hiss at the end of every sentence on that last syllable. Some of the cats came close to calling Sunfire mad from the loss of Shatteredlegs, but others just thought that was highly normal. Still, she was a respected warrior and none would ever dare tell her otherwise.

Stonekit growled and lashed her tail. "Well, I don't want to, so go and eat some fleas. And I don't care what you want." She felt her lip curl over her teeth, and another harsh growl escaped her. She got up and let the fur along her spine stand on end. She probably liked to eat kits when their mothers were asleep.

Sunfire would still persist, seeing slightly more fire in Stonekit's eyes as she continued to pester the young cat. The tabby warrior recoiled back in mock pain, her purring having died off while she turned her nose away. With ears lain back in fake sadness, she mewed, "So you do not wish to be trained by a senior warrior such as myself? I have secrets I can share with you." Her voice cracked and grew small, her eyes growing wide. Bribe the kit with unknown things. Curiosity may kill the cat after all. "I shouldn't have said that. Your father may come back to kill me."

Stonekit huffed and snapped out in a harsh tone, "Good! Then I won't have to listen to you.And I don't realy care about your stupid secrets. Senior? Your practicaly an elder! She mocked how the she-cat said the last word in each sentance with a different tone. She looked away, closing her eyes, her nose help high.

Sunfire was beyond fed up with Stonekit's attitude. As far as the small cat was concerned, she had no choice in who was her mentor. Crackedstar was the deciding factor in everything here, and Sunfire's word had more weight then a six moon old she-cat unable to walk out of the Clan camp by herself. The older warrior snapped suddenly, her teeth pulled back as she gave a low hiss directly into Stonekit's face. "I am just as capable, if not more then any other warrior here Stonekit." Sunfire spat the last word out angrily, claws unsheathing as she advanced in a more menacing fashion upon the little soon-to-be apprentice. "You have no idea what I am capable of, and as for my age, until the day I die or am no longer fit to be a warrior, that is when you can call me an elder."
