StormClan Camp The StormClan camp is set in a stone bowl carved out by the winds and rain. The slopes are curved, allowing easy access and still requiring that the clan cats build their barriers with nettles and brambles. One side of the bowl is relatively flat, a small indention into the wall with a small ramp and ledge leading up to it. This is the leader's den and the calling rock where he holds clan meetings. To the right sits the warriors den built with brambles and thick thorns that have blown from QuakeClan territory into StormClan lands. Farther to the right lay the elders den, hidden beneath another set of thick brambles and thorns. Next to the elder's den, a log separates them from the medicine cat's den. The medicine cat uses this log to store herbs by gouging shelves into it. The log is also used by the elder for sunbathing. To the left of the leader's den sits the nursery. With the wall only beginning to slope away, the nursery requires less hazardous thorns to protect it, keeping the kits safe and secure. Finally, the apprentice den sits on the other side, closest to the entrance.[/center] ((Picture coming soon))

Thump. Thump. Thump. The noise kept coming, first slow but then gaining speed, it was a hard noise, much like dropping a rock and then picking it up and dropping it again. Swiftstar, leader of StormClan covered her ears with her paws and curled her tail around herself to drive out the terrible sound. Finally opening them she hissed, "what in StarClan's name?" and stood up. Her pond like eyes scored over her den, flicking her now- uncurled tail ever so slightly. She saw that nothing was there, nothing at all. Was she going crazy? Certainly not, the sound had been clear as day and yet nothing was making it. "I must be going crazy..." she sighed.

Windtail sat on his haunches just inside the Warrior's den watching the rain steadily fall. He didn't want to go out. That would mean getting his fur wet. He sighed inwardly and looked down at his paws. His fur was long and thick, meaning that the rain would weigh him down and stick to his body heavily. If only he had been blessed with short fur like most of his Clan.

"Lemme guess, you don't want to get your fur wet either?" Stillwater approached Windtail from behind, having just awoken and stretched. He too had long fur, and hated the grooming it took to make it dry again as well as they weight. "Why were we cursed with such fur? The she-cats think it's wonderful and they envy it, but they don't know how lucky they are with their short coats," the tom joked, be he knew it to be true.

The white tom jumped to his paws at the sudden voice. "Great StarClan! You scared me half to death!" he exclaimed. His seriousness faded and a smile spread across his face. The tom's fur lie flat on his back again and he settled back on his haunches. "True my friend, very true. I'd like it if StarClan would just switch our pelts with one of them."

Swiftstar padded out of her den, her tail constantly flicking behind her in agitation. She opened her pond like eyes once more, the sun scorching them at first glance and she had to shy away from it. Finally the gray she-cat managed to look at the camp, in all it's glory, with okay eyes. She saw Stillwater and Windtail sitting about and she padded over to them, a neutral expression held on her face. "Hello." she said dipping her head to each warrior.

Stillwater dipped his head in an embarassed apology to Windtail, sorry that he had frightened his fellow warrior. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to startle you," the white and black tom mewed quietly, but there was a slight smile on his face. "But then we'd have their starry pelts, and what good would those be to us? Certainly not good for catching prey," he jested lightly, dipping his head respectfully to Swiftstar as she approached them. "Greetings, Swiftstar," he mewed, making room for her to sit with them in the warriors den, for it was raining quite steadily outside.

Swiftstar dipped her head back once more before sitting closer to them and smiling, around camp she was quiet, caring and stern. But outside of camp, like in Gatherings she was cold and distant, never wanting to get close to many cats. She liked to keep her distance and her pride because it proved useful. "This stupid rain causes such a fuss, you two are worse then she-cats." she purred mockingly.

Shatteredcry let her eyes flutter open gently, and then scan the den. Some cats were still asleep, but is was very early in the morning. The soft, but somehow sharp sliced through the dens cracks. She sighed quietly and got to her paws silently and exited the den to see her leader. She let a small dim smile crawl onto her face, and looked down.

"We have a right to make such a fuss, if our fur is so hard to get dry," Stillwater replied with a purr. And it was quite true, for their long, thick pelts were suseptible to carrying water and weighing them down. "On days like this I just want to curl up in my nest and wait for the rain to stop," the tom sighed, curling his black tail closer around him to avoid the water pouring from the sky. It was quite pleasent in the warriors den, actually.

Windtail nodded at Stillwater's comment. "Try having all that water soak into your fur. It weighs you down quite a bit." he mewed to the gray leader. He caught motion in the corner of his eye, it was a she-cat, Shatteredcy. The she-cat rarely talked to him, let alone anyone else.
"Good morning Shatteredcry." the white tom mewed cheerful, waving his poofy tail.

Shatteredcry grantted him a shy and small smile, and slunk ver, sitting a distance away but close enough. "Hello," She murmured quietly, looking down at her small paws and lean legs. Rain slowly drenched her fur, but she was used to it by now. This part of her life was normal.
